Cyril and Methodius Route in Italy

The north-east of Italy has always been a major crossroads of roads coming from eastern Europe: depending on the point of entry on the Italian border, the roads followed different routes, albeit in the same direction, and then all converged on the same main route to Rome.
The steps of Cyril and Methodius led from Great Moravia to Rome at the invitation of the Pope, where they succeeded in defending Old Slavonic as the fourth liturgical language.
The trail continues from Rome to the southeast coast of Italy to the Adriatic Sea to the port of Bari, from where it is possible to take a boat to Tirana and travel along the Via Egnatia.

The trail could be divided into two parts. The first part leads from the north to Rome and the second part south to Bari.
