Launched by the Council of Europe in 1987, the Cultural Routes programme demonstrates in a visible way, by means of a journey through space and time, how the heritage of the different countries and cultures of Europe represent shared cultural traditions.

The Cultural Routes put into practice the fundamental values of the Council of Europe: human rights, cultural democracy, cultural diversity and identity, dialogue, mutual exchange and enrichments across boundaries and centuries. As of 2021, there are 45 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

Goals of ECRCM Association

The European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius is an international network of partners that seeks to make visible and preserve the unique European heritage, the authentic story of the Cyril and Methodius mission.

Membership in ECRCM Association

The association is open to new members who are interested in supporting its objective – the creation of a sustainable partner network developing an international cultural route thematically focused on the Cyril and Methodius legacy.

Solve the secret in Glagolitic across the Czech-Slovak border in tourist season 2022

A new outdoor activity was prepared for tourist season 2022 for those who like to discover new places and go to nature. ‘Wandering without Borders in the Footsteps of Slavic Heritage‘ includes unique monuments in Moravia (17 localities) and in western Slovakia (15 localities).

Sofia hosted an international expert conference on the Cyril and Methodius Route

The Cyril and Methodius Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia has prepared an international conference on the Cyril and Methodius Route in Sofia. Martina Janochová from the Permanent Secretariat of the EKSCM presented activities of the ECRCM and the development of cooperation with Bulgaria.

Cyril and Methodius Route at the online workshop of the Danube Macro-Regional Strategy of the EU

The topic of the meeting was the cultural trails and cycle paths of one of the 4 EU macro-regions, which includes 14 European countries. Martina Janochová, a representative of the Permanent Secretariat of the EKSCM, presented the activities of the association and presented possible proposals for connecting the area with a new cultural tourism product for the Balkans.
